Haiti defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-2 on Thursday at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, in the opening match of the 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League for both teams. The result gave Haiti three points in League A, Group A, while Trinidad and Tobago began the group stage without a point.
Haiti took the lead in the 23rd minute when Fafà Picault scored, but Trinidad and Tobago responded eight minutes later through Wayne Frederick to send the teams into halftime level. The match remained closely contested after the break, with both teams creating opportunities as they looked to take control of the game.
Trinidad and Tobago moved ahead in the 59th minute when captain Levi García scored, putting the Soca Warriors in front for the first time. Haiti then recovered late in the match, with Garven Metusala equalizing in the first minute of stoppage time before Wilson Isidor scored eight minutes later to complete the comeback.
The defeat leaves Trinidad and Tobago with three remaining group matches in the September-October window. Concacaf’s League A format has Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti, Costa Rica, Curaçao, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic in Group A, with the top two teams advancing to the quarterfinals alongside four seeded teams.
Trinidad and Tobago will return to action Sunday against the Dominican Republic at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain. Haiti is scheduled to face Costa Rica the same day at Sabina Park as the group continues its opening round of matches.
