Zelenskyy was unaware of the truce Trump announced, Axios reported. He says Russian strikes on energy sites continued.

President Donald Trump announced an “energy ceasefire” between Russia and Ukraine on Sunday, saying both sides had agreed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy initially said he knew nothing about it, Axios reported, and said Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy sites continued that day, including on a power plant in Kharkiv.
Trump wrote on social media that the truce took effect immediately, that “both parties have agreed,” and that they should not break it. The Kremlin had not immediately addressed the claim.
Zelenskyy wrote on X that Ukrainian skies had been “infested” with Russian Shahed drones all day, that there had been glide bomb strikes and that the Kharkiv plant was hit that evening. He said Kyiv would support a truce but that Moscow must also comply.
Trump announced the truce two days after a diesel deal with Russia in which the United States temporarily lifted sanctions on Russian fuel. Attacks by both sides on energy infrastructure have pushed up global energy prices. A Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia on Saturday killed at least 16 people, including a six-year-old girl, AFP reported.
