TMZ says Sean Combs was hurt fighting a Jamaican drug lord in prison. Officials have not confirmed it.
Sean “Diddy” Combs suffered a head injury during a fight with Jamaican drug lord Christopher “Dudus” Coke at a federal prison in New Jersey, TMZ reported, citing sources inside the facility. Neither the Bureau of Prisons nor FCI Fort Dix has confirmed the reported fight, the injury or any discipline.
Combs, 56, was taken from Fort Dix to a local hospital around 1 a.m. on Oct. 10 and returned to the prison before 7 a.m., according to TMZ. Sources said the injury was not life-threatening and that he remained conscious. The outlet reported that the altercation happened during an outdoor recreation period shortly before the hospital trip, and that both men were placed in the prison’s Special Housing Unit afterward.
TMZ reported that the dispute followed other inmates’ frustration over alleged special treatment of Combs, after an NBC News report included video that appeared to show him using a cellphone in prison. Raids that followed led to cellphones being confiscated from several inmates, reportedly including Coke. Page Six had earlier reported that Combs hurt his head on a bed, and the exact circumstances remain unclear.

Coke, 57, is a convicted Jamaican drug lord who authorities say led the Shower Posse gang. He was extradited to the United States in 2010 after a siege of Kingston’s Tivoli Gardens neighborhood left nearly 50 people dead, and was sentenced in 2012 to 23 years in a federal drug trafficking case. He and Combs are held at the same low-security facility, according to Complex.
