Derek King adds staff and squad reinforcements before Trinidad and Tobago’s Haiti opener. Two Club Sando players join.
Trinidad and Tobago head coach Derek King has added Club Sando defender Jaheim Joseph and midfielder Daniel David to the Soca Warriors squad for the opening matches of the 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League. Both players are seeking their first senior international caps after featuring prominently for Club Sando during the club’s run to the semifinal phase of the Concacaf Caribbean Cup.
The additions come ahead of Trinidad and Tobago’s Group A opener against Haiti on Thursday, Sept. 24, at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica. Concacaf lists kickoff at 7:20 p.m. local time in Jamaica, or 8:20 p.m. in Trinidad and Tobago. The match is part of League A, with the competition also serving as a pathway toward the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup.
Joseph and David bring the number of Club Sando players in the squad to four, joining uncapped midfielder Luke Phillip and goalkeeper Jabari Brice. Joseph’s inclusion also provides additional defensive depth following the unavailability of United States-based defender Kobi Henry for the opening two matches, while forwards Roald Mitchell and Nathaniel James have been affected by injuries.
King has also expanded his technical staff with the addition of former Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper Jan-Michael Williams and Jamaican coach Merron Gordon. Gordon, a former Reggae Boyz assistant coach, joined the staff ahead of the Haiti match and is expected to contribute to tactical and analytical work.
The Haiti fixture begins a four-match Nations League sequence for Trinidad and Tobago. The Soca Warriors will host the Dominican Republic at Hasely Crawford Stadium on Sept. 27 before facing Curaçao away on Oct. 1 and at home in Port of Spain on Oct. 4.
Haiti enters the match after appearing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while Trinidad and Tobago retained its place in League A after the previous Nations League campaign. Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago are both in Group A alongside the Dominican Republic and Curaçao.
